Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
